Program directors can use the information on this page to learn more about the SAP, register, make a payment, submit their rank list of applicants, access the restricted database and track accepted offers.

1. HOW TO REGISTER AND PAY FOR THE SAP (DEADLINE – September 26)

  1. Spend a few minutes reviewing the materials and links on this page
  2. Scroll down this page and click on 'Terms of Agreement'
  3. Read and agree to the terms of agreement for program directors.
  4. Once you read the Terms of Agreement, scroll down to the bottom of that page and click 'I Agree and Would Like to Proceed.' This will take you to the page where you
  5. Once your program is registered, ACPM staff will email you the password to access the restricted web pages. Please do not share the password.



2. ATTEND INFO SESSION (December 2, 2022)

  1. ACPM hosted an info session for Program Directors on Friday December 2, 2022.
  2. Please email sap@acpm.org to access the recording.
  3. The recording for the applicants’ info session can be accessed here.


3. ADDITIONAL PAYMENT INFORMATION

  1. There is a flat fee of 250.00 per program.
  2. Make your payment of 250.00 by credit card online or by check. Once you make a payment, you should receive a confirmation email.
  3. Once you register and complete your transaction, you should be able to print your invoice and you will also receive a copy of the invoice in your email. If you have problems with the invoice, please contact ACPM staff


4. ASK APPLICANTS TO REGISTER (September 28 - January 16, 2023)

Please note that the SAP webpage for applicants will be updated prior to the start of the registration period.

  1. Applicants are required to register to participate in the SAP. This will allow ACPM to periodically communicate with the Applicants about the next steps in the process and upcoming deadlines.
  2. Applicants have until Friday January 21, 2022, to register to participate in the SAP. They do not have to pay a fee.
  3. In order to register, Applicats will need to submit their full name, birthday and contact information.
  4. Applicants should register by following the steps included in their page.
  5. Please note that January 16 is also the last date for programs to withdraw/change slots within the SAP.


5. ASK APPLICANTS TO SUBMIT RANK LIST (January 17 - 19)

  1. Applicants do not have to pay to submit a rank list.
  2. Applicants CANNOT submit a rank list before January 17 at 11:00 a.m. ET.
  3. From January 17-19 11:50 p.m. ET, Applicants should follow the steps included in their page.
  4. Applicant Withdrawal: Please note that Thursday January 19 is also the deadline for an applicant to withdraw from the SAP.
  5. ACPM will post additional guidance for applicants submitting ranked lists.


6. PROGRAMS SUBMIT RANK LIST OF APPLICANTS (January 20 - 22)

  1. Programs can submit their rank lists beginning January 20 at noon ET through January 22 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
  2. Rank lists will be submitted via an online form (available at a later date) where the programs can choose from all the Applicants who have registered by January 16, 2022. (Note the web page is password protected. You will receive your password once you register and pay).
  3. Once you submit your rank list, you should receive an email confirming your submission.


7. PAIRING; RELEASING UNPAIRED APPLICANTS & UNFILLED SLOTS (JANUARY 23 ONWARDS)

  1. After the Applicants and Programs submit their rank lists, ACPM will conduct the Program/Applicant Pairing from January 23 - 27.
  2. On Monday, January 30, at 2:00 p.m. ET, the results of the pairing will be shared with the Programs that are participating in the SAP.
  3. The Programs will extend an offer to the Applicants with whom they are paired. Please note that ACPM will not share the results of the pairing to the Applicants. The offer will come directly from the Programs.
  4. At the same time, we will update the Applicants’ Database to reflect the number of unpaired/open slots among the Programs. ACPM will update this database as Applicants receive offers and slots get filled.
  5. With the permission of the Applicants (sought during the rank list submission), we will release the list of unpaired Applicants to the programs. We will share a list of programs with available slots to these Applicants who are not yet paired/matched to a Program.


8. RECOMMENDED PRACTICES FOR PROGRAMS

  1. Email offers to Applicants, and request read receipts.
  2. In addition to emailing offers, call Applicants and/or send text messages.
  3. Once the open interviewing/offering/acceptances (after the Initial Notification Day) has begun, check the SAP website frequently to see if
    1. An Applicant to whom you are preparing to make an offer or invite for interview has already accepted an offer from another Program
    2. An Applicant to whom you have already made an offer has accepted an offer from another Program. If that is the case, your offer is considered declined/withdrawn, and you may immediately offer the spot to another available candidate.
  4. Require Applicants accepting offers to demonstrate proof of having withdrawn from NRMP if the candidate’s ERAS or other application materials indicate they are registered for NRMP.
