The Uniformed Services Academy of Preventive Medicine (USAPM) serves as a liaison between the Uniformed Services and ACPM's broader membership across preventive medicine and population health. USAPM members come from all branches of the Armed Forces and the U.S. Public Health Service and bring valuable and diverse perspectives to ACPM. We work to foster interest in preventive medicine opportunities within the Uniformed Services and advocate for educational curricula to prepare preventive medicine physicians for the unique and varied nature of our work within the Services.

Join USAPM

ACPM members who are current or former members of any U.S. Uniformed Service are encouraged to join USAPM for an additional $35. Membership can be paid in conjunction with annual ACPM member dues or added separately at any time.

Support the Uniformed Services

As an ACPM council, the USAPM aims to do the following:

  • Establish and maintain an educational and scientific national academy composed of qualified preventive medicine physicians and residents who are currently serving or have served in the Uniformed Services of the United States of America, as well as medical students attending the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences or Health Professions Scholarship Program awardees.
  • Foster interest in preventive medicine training programs and practice opportunities in the Uniformed Services.
  • Champion the development and implementation of educational curricula unique to the practice of preventive medicine in the Uniformed Services.
  • Represent the concerns and interests of all Uniformed Services preventive medicine physicians within ACPM.
  • Represent the concerns and interests of ACPM to the Services.
