Call for Session and Presentation Proposals

The American College of Preventive Medicine invites physicians and practitioners from a range of specialties, disciplines, and healthcare ecosystems to submit proposals for an educational session and/or presentation at the 2019 annual conference.

Session submissions are no longer being accepted for Prevention 2019. The conference will be held May 20-23, 2019 at the Omni William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh, PA.

ACPM's annual meeting brings together preventive medicine and public health physicians, physicians from other specialties interested in population health, preventive medicine and other medical residents, medical students, allied health professionals, public health professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs, industry colleagues, and others who seek to learn about or contribute to preventive medicine and public health.

Submission Guidelines

ACPM is seeking original, thought-provoking proposals that will enable attendees to share with and learn from one another about innovative practices and emerging trends impacting our field, particularly as they relate to the conference theme (to be announced). Sessions should incorporate educational methods, provide replicable hands-on knowledge, and demonstrate measurable outcomes and results. Sessions will offer CME/MOC credits and are intended to educate and support learning.

In order to ensure an objective presentation, we ask that speakers refrain from using sessions as a forum to sell, promote, or pitch any specific product or service. This includes: 1) limiting the mention of your employer or personal services to your introduction at the beginning of the session; 2) handouts must be strictly educational in nature and company literature may not be distributed as part of the session; and 3) attendee contact information may not be used for marketing or solicitation purposes of any kind.

Proposals must include the following information. Additional instructions are provided below with the submission form.

  • Submitter information
  • Session/Presentation title
  • Description
  • Format
  • Length
  • Disclosures

The submission deadline has passed for Prevention 2019. Please watch for updates on the call for submissions on Prevention 2020.

  • Qualifies as a "late-breaker" session or other attention to the timeliness of the topic for the field of Preventive Medicine

All those submitting a proposal will be notified no later than November 30 of the outcome of the committee's deliberations. We encourage you to hold the dates of the meeting—May 20-23, 2019—until you hear from the committee to ensure your availability in the event your proposal is selected.
