With the holidays fast approaching, this isn’t my gift-giving list! This is a shout out to the esteemed ACPM student and resident members who were recipients of travel scholarships for the Preventive Medicine Conference over the past few years – scholarships made possible through the generous contributions of ACPM members.

Now is your opportunity to contribute and support the next generation of Preventive Medicine physicians. Scholarships offered through the Future Leaders in Preventive Medicine and the Jacob and Heather Adams Resident Scholarship programs have provided the opportunity for these individuals to attend the ACPM annual conference, be immersed in hours of learning, meet with leaders in the field, discover mentors and learn more about the significant impact preventive medicine physicians make every day in both clinical medicine and public health.

You don’t have to take my word for it … hear why your contributions matter from previous recipients:
  • I am incredibly honored to receive the support … The conference presents a valuable opportunity to cultivate practical skills and establish professional connections that are essential for building a career in this field. This award fuels my commitment to translate knowledge into action, allowing me to better serve my patients and empower my community to lead healthier lives. – Michaela Ramirez
  • I am humbled, honored, and immensely thankful … The ability to be among like-minded individuals, while making vital networking and mentorship connections at the conference, allows me to learn how other Preventive Medicine physicians are advancing work in population health to improve the lives of individuals in communities across the United States. – Silvia Caswell
  • Receiving this scholarship means getting the unique opportunity to connect with and learn from the leaders in the preventive medicine field. This is an area of medicine I am passionate about but get little exposure to in traditional medical training. – Brooklynne Palmer
  • This scholarship has provided me with an amazing opportunity to continue to grow and learn in the field of preventive medicine. I am passionate about public health and I am honored to receive the chance to meet with and learn from experts in the field during the conference. – Nadine Jawad
  • Winning this scholarship is an amazing privilege which both supports me financially and professionally as I pursue this amazing specialty within medicine. Having the opportunity to develop mentors and connect with leaders in this field is inspiring as I come from a medical school without any faculty who are trained in General Preventive Medicine and Public Health despite the need for such physician leaders. – Abhishek Dharan
  • I am very grateful to receive this scholarship as a recognition of my potential to become a future leader in preventive medicine. I have met wonderful mentors, colleagues, and lifelong friends through ACPM and I hope to continue my professional and personal development through the College for years to come. – Anand Singh
  • I had a wonderful opportunity and experience learning about all the amazing research efforts currently underway by many of our esteemed colleagues from all over North America … This conference showcased some amazing research while pulling back the curtain, giving first-time attendings, such as myself and the other residents and young physicians, the opportunity to see firsthand how exciting this line of work can be. And how broad the PM paintbrush stroke really is. – Scott Keel
By qualifying as a recipient of the scholarships, these individuals truly shine as future leaders in the field. Help recruit the next generation, support early-career physicians and make that light a little brighter with your tax-deductible contribution to the ACPM scholarship programs.
