About the Program

Protecting our workforce through disease and injury prevention is at the core of occupational medicine – a key component of preventive medicine practice. Through health initiatives within this specialty and maintaining health and safety standards, the labor force is supported to remain productive and continue to effectively operate.

The American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM) provides a board review course on the occupational medicine specialty breakout to help physicians seeking certification and re-certification. Occupational medicine specialty breakout course attendees will receive information regarding clinical, compliance, and administrative best practices.

About the Occupational Medicine Program

Broken into three separate courses, the ACPM Occupational Medicine Program provides expert insight into key components of the occupational medicine specialty. This includes an in-depth review of the clinical diagnosis and treatment of workplace injuries and preventing exposure to hazards. It also provides a thorough understanding of how to integrate safety practices that meet regulatory standards set forth by agencies such as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and others. Finally, attendees also receive an overview of OEHS administrative and system-based practices.

The three course sessions within the board review course are as follows:

• Clinical Occupational Medicine & Toxicology
• Occupational & Environmental Medicine Regulatory Compliance
• OEHS Administration and System-Based Practice
