PM 2023: Opening Session: State of the College and Dr. Katharine Boucot Sturgis Lecture

About the Program

As the 2023 recipient of the Dr. Katharine Boucot Sturgis Award, Dr. Jonathan Fielding will articulate the important role of preventive medicine physicians in reducing morbidity and mortality through research, public policy, clinical care, population health initiatives and public health strategies. He will trace the 40-year history of international collaboration between the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care and the United States Preventive Services Task Force. He will discuss the unique competencies of preventive medicine physicians to create and disseminate solid scientific evidence to inform both clinical and population health decision-making. In addition, Dr. Fielding will address ACPM’s critical role in battling misinformation and disinformation around COVID-19, climate change and other health threats and conditions. Register
