ACPM Announces 2019 National Diabetes Prevention Program Grant Winners
Three health care organizations have been selected by The American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM), in collaboration with the American Medical Association (AMA) and The Black Women’s Health Imperative (BWHI), to receive grants to develop new practice-setting models for addressing the national type 2 diabetes epidemic.
JAMA: Prevalence of Diabetes by Race and Ethnicity in the United States, 2011-2016
This study estimates the racial/ethnic differences in the prevalence of diabetes among US adults 20 years or older. It pulls data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys, 2011-2016. The sample included adults 20 years or older who had self-reported diagnosed diabetes during the interview or measurements of hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), fasting plasma glucose (FPG), and 2-hour plasma glucose (2hPG).
