Dr. Janet Greenhut, an ACPM member, shares her thoughts on the importance of supporting ACPM.

ACPM Member and Donor:
Janet Greenhut, MD, MPH, CSC

Ann Arbor, Michigan

Wayne State University School of Medicine, Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health

Why I feel it is important to donate to charity:
I like to be able to give back to those who have helped me as well as those who are in need. I also like to help people do things they otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity to do.

Most fulfilling aspect of donating to the ACPM:
Knowing that I'm helping to promote the goals of preventive medicine.

How I hope my donations have helped others:
Increasing the exposure of the College to the wider public and informing people about the benefits of prevention.

What I’ve learned through my involvement with the ACPM:
There are a lot of dedicated, hard-working people who are passionate about preventive medicine.

Something about me not everyone knows:
I recently became a certified sexuality counselor. I completed a training program at the University of Michigan for sexuality educators, sex therapists, and sexuality counselors, where I was the only physician in a group of three dozen social workers, psychologists, and health educators. Sexuality counseling, similar to clinical preventive medicine, is an area that is often overlooked in health care. I hope to make it an integral part of my practice.

To invest in ACPM, please consider making a contribution today.
