Chief Development Officer
Maureen Simmons, MA, CFRE, is Chief Development Officer at the American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM). She is responsible for leading ACPM's philanthropic efforts, securing sponsorships/exhibitors for the society’s annual meeting, and management of the ACPM Corporate Roundtable. She also works with other key ACPM staff on the cultivation and stewardship of key corporate partnership. Ms. Simmons works with the College’s Business Development Committee on specific projects related to ACPM business development projects.
Prior to joining ACPM, Ms. Simmons was Director of Development for the American Society of Radiologic Technologists Education and Research Foundation where she managed over 20 grant programs, the ASRT Healthcare Industry Advisory Council, all corporate partnerships for both the Foundation and association and all Foundation development efforts including an annual, major gift, planned giving and other fundraising activities. She also served as Director of Development for the Rio Grande Chapter of the American Red Cross and was a consultant for many national organizations including Junior Achievement.
Mrs. Simmons earned her master of arts in philanthropy and development from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in Winona, MN in 2006 and graduated with honors from the University of New Mexico with a bachelor’s degree in English/communications. She also earned her Certificate of Fundraising Executive credential in 2009. Maureen is not fluent in Spanish though she tries.
