Mentoring is an important facet of professional development, and ACPM is dedicated to helping foster mentor-mentee relationships. Below you will find helpful articles to help guide the start of a successful mentoring relationship. Mentors are ACPM Fellows, (Full) Members, and Associate members. Affiliate members and Resident members may also apply serve as mentors to Medical Student members.
Mentees are typically Medical Students, Residents, and Affiliate members. However, the mentee pool is open to all member types without restriction. All mentors and mentees must be current ACPM members (in good standing), the program is not open to non-ACPM members.
All application submissions will be reviewed and processed by ACPM's Membership Staff. Mentees will be assigned with mentors based on application preferences (so please complete your application carefully and completely).
We realize that there may be occasions in which a mentor-mentee may decide that they wish to pursue a different pairing, or have life/professional commitments arise which may require a withdrawal from the program altogether. If at any time either the mentor or mentee wish to terminate the mentorship, you may simply email email@example.com to request withdrawal from the mentorship arrangement. As a professional courtesy, we recommend that you also advise the other party. However, ACPM Staff can notify the other party (if you wish).
Serving as a mentor or mentee is a commitment. Therefore, we advise that you consider your availiabilty and willingness to be participate in such an arrangement before applying.
