Graduate Medical Education Committee

The Graduate Medical Education (GME) Committee consults on best practices in GME, reports on trends in GME, advocates for GME in all specialty areas of preventive medicine, and encourages GME in preventive medicine among medical students and those already certified in other medical specialties.

The Graduate Medical Education (GME) Committee was formed in October 2001.The GME Committee is concerned primarily with improving, and being an advocate for, GME in all specialty areas of preventive medicine. Some of the GME Committee’s recent activities include developing a Milestones Translation Tool to assist program directors with implementing the ACGME Preventive Medicine Milestones.  More information, and the translation tool, can be found at the "members-only" section of the Council of Residency Program Directors webpage. Contact Anita Balan with questions on accessing this section.

The GME Committee also assists the Chair of the Council of Residency Program Directors to develop and implement the Preventive Medicine Residency Directors Workshop which is held every year in conjunction with the preventive medicine annual conference.
