This second comprehensive board
review course will focus on the specialty of Public Health and General Preventive
Medicine and will present an in-depth review of the
Preventive Medicine, including injury prevention; infectious disease; and
screening, counseling and chemoprevention for chronic diseases, with
emphasis on recommendations from the USPSTF.
Health, including air quality, water quality and food quality; radiation;
physical stressors; risk assessment; waste management; along with
legislation relevant to these topics.
including data sources; study design; bias, causality, and
generalizability; measures of morbidity and mortality; measures of effect;
human subjects review.
Services Administration, including organization and financing of public
and private sectors of health care; public health practice; systems-based
practice including medical errors, quality measurement, assessment, and
improvement; and disease management.
