In this role she championed the healthy development of teens, including their emotional, psychological and sexual development. During her time leading DASH, Dr. Zaza successfully increased the DASH budget, integrated DASH with other programs addressing HIV, STDs and adolescent health, and oversaw the development of a new report regarding the health risk behaviors of sexual minority teens. Dr. Zaza is a 1990 graduate of the combined BS/MD program at Youngstown State University and the Northeast Ohio Medical University, an alumna of CDC’s prestigious Epidemic Intelligence Service, and a graduate of CDC’s Preventive Medicine Residency.
