Olugbenga ("Gbenga") Obasanjo, MBBS, PhD, MPH, MBA, FACPM
Dr. Obasanjo serves as the District Health Director for District 4 Public Health in LaGrange, Georgia. He received his medical degree at the University of Ibadan, in Nigeria and earned his Master of Public Health degree and Doctor of Philosophy degree in epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins University, gaining experience as an epidemiologist with the Maryland Department of Health during his doctoral studies. He completed an internship in internal medicine at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center and returned to Johns Hopkins, where he completed his residency training in public health and preventive medicine. Dr. Obasanjo worked with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s AIDS Prevention Initiative in Nigeria and as a consultant to Nigerian governments and private industry on HIV prevention. He has also worked as a medical officer with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, as a physician in Prince William County in Northern Virginia and took a tour of duty in the Middle East with the U.S. Army as a Preventive Medicine Officer.
