1) Advocacy

Through experienced staff at the National Office in Washington, DC, ACPM works in support of beneficial preventive medicine initiatives by working with Congress, the Administration and federal agencies. Our advocacy staff also invites members to become effective grassroots advocates through ACPM’s Hill Day and other Call-to-Action campaigns.

 

2) Preventive Medicine Annual Meeting

ACPM’s Preventive Medicine meeting is the place for professionals to enhance their skills and education in the latest research and techniques in preventive medicine. Held at leading destinations throughout the country, professional and social events give our attendees ample opportunities for networking. Our highly motivated exhibitors give you the chance to see products, technology and learn about their services all in one place. ACPM members receive significant discounts on the meeting, which offer an immediate return on their dues investment.

 

3) FACPM credential

ACPM offers the only fellowship which specifically distinguishes and honors preventive medicine physicians. Candidates for ACPM Fellowship must demonstrate the highest level of commitment to the specialty through board certification(s), contributions of service to ACPM and preventive medicine. Additionally, all candidates must meet a minimum requirement of three (consecutive) years’ active (full) membership in the College.

 

4) Networking

5) American Journal of Preventive Medicine

The American Journal of Preventive Medicine is filled with articles on research and scientific developments. Peer-reviewed articles help make this the premier journal for preventive medicine physicians. This important resource is published 12 times per year, and is available to subscribers online or in print. AJPM is a well-respected publication, likely to become an important reference for your career in preventive medicine.

 

6) ACPM Membership Directory (MEMBERS ONLY ACCESS)

ACPM offers members access to social networking through our association management software, Your Membership (YM). YM is offers the amazing features of popular external social networking applications, yet serves as a resource (only accessible to ACPM members) with alphabetical and geographic directory listings of our members. Members must login to our website with a username and password to gain access.

 

7) ACPM Headlines

Members receive a bi-monthly electronic newsletter with timely articles about ACPM activities, opportunities and benefits. ACPM Headlines also highlights the notable accomplishments of our members. Stay "in the know” with ACPM Headlines!

 

8) Online Membership Services (MEMBERS ONLY ACCESS)

ACPM’s membership staff is readily available to assist with member requests. We also offer a web-based system which allows members quick-and-easy access to services. The key components of ACPM’s online services include: view and manage your contact information online, renew your membership online, register online for conferences and other events; and locate friends, colleagues and mentors with the online directory feature. Member groups may also use ACPM’s online system for committee/section engagement.

 

9) Earn CME/MOC credits

Earn Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Maintenance of Certification (MOC) credits through ACPM’s in-person meetings and events, and online learning modules. Members pay no extra fees for CME/MOC credit submission. Non-members pay $10 per credit earned (in addition to registration fees, as applicable).

 

10) ACPM Board Review Course

For 26 years, ACPM has offered the only comprehensive review course, designed to help prepare physicians for the American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM) certification exam. Attendees may earn CME and/or MOC credits through attendance, and members receive significant course discounts!

 

11) ACPM Online Career Center

ACPM's Online Career Center your exclusive resource for online employment connections in Preventive Medicine! ACPM members may register and post your CV at no cost! ACPM is also a member of the National Healthcare Network (NHCN), a group of more than 300 healthcare associations and professional societies. This affiliation allows ACPM members access to more job postings from a variety of healthcare employers. Employers also gain access to a more diverse applicant pool.

 

12) Online Interactive Calendar

ACPM's online interactive calendar provides up-to-date information on events and conferences of particular interest to ACPM members. The calendar features an interactive menu, allowing you to receive e-mails or text messages on your smartphone with event details, and add the event to your choice of several major calendar services, including MS Outlook and Apple iCal. You may also choose to extract ACPM-specific events or subscribe to the calendar through an RSS feed.
