This is a panel discussion among preventive medicine physicians with diverse careers. The target audience is medical students and those considering a career in preventive medicine. The session will start with a brief overview of preventive medicine opportunities and training, followed by each panelist's overview of their career path. The latter half of the session will be devoted to discussion.
Special guest panelists include:
- Michael Crupain, MD, MPH, Director, Consumer Reports Food Safety and Sustainability Center
- Eric Garges, MD, MPH, Associate Program Director of the General Preventive Medicine Residency Program at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, and US Army Public Health Command Liaison Officer for the Military Tropical Medicine Consortium
- Harry Haverkos, MD, Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, retired Captain of the US Public Health Service and Epidemic Intelligence Officer
- Tisha Titus, MD, MPH, Director of Case Management & Work Capacity, Federal Occupational Health (Program Support Center, US Department of Health and Human Services)
Through a partnership between ACPM and the American Medical Student Association (AMSA), this CHIT Chat webinar series aims to increase awareness of current public health issues and interest in the medical specialty of preventive medicine.
This series is designed for both medical students and residents.
