Program Description: The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Residency in Public Health/Preventive Medicine, associated with the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, offers a unique learning opportunity in a dynamic urban setting. The fully accredited two-year program consists of a 35-hour/week practicum at the Department and concurrent academic work toward a Master of Public Health Degree at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.

In the first of their combined Academic/Practicum years, residents rotate through Divisions of the Health Department such as Disease Control, Environmental Health, Epidemiology, Health Care Access and Improvement, Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, and Mental Hygiene.
