Description:
The Preventive Medicine: Public Health
Residency Program sponsored by the New
Jersey Department of Health and Senior
Services incorporates both the practicum
and academic years. The first year of the
program, the academic year, consists of a
course of study leading to the Master of
Public Health degree. During the second
year, the practicum year, the residents
apply the knowledge and skills gained from
the academic year in assignments while
continuing to receive supervision and
support from the program director.
Graduates of the residency have the
opportunity to continue to work in the New
Jersey Department of Health and Senior
Services or pursue work in public health
research, in academia, or in other public
or private health agencies depending on
their interests.
