The 2008
Preventive Medicine In-Service Examination
took place
August 18-22, 2008
NEW!
ACPM is pleased to
announce an exciting change concerning
this year's exam. The College is
launching a pilot program of an electronic
version of the examination. This pilot
will be limited to 20 residents, and
residencies that are interested should
contact David Dauphinais at
ddauphinais@acpm.org
for complete details.
Program Details:
The ACPM In-service Examination is
administered annually, in August, as a way
to enable residents and their directors to
determine if there are specific areas
where more study and experience are
needed. It is a voluntary exam that allows
residents to compare themselves with
others at the same level nationally. The
exam’s 110 questions are written in a "one
best response" format and residents are
given two hours to complete the exam.
Though not intended to be an examination
preparation tool, the In-service Exam can
be a gauge of how well residents are being
trained and prepared for the content of
the Board examination. It is designed for
residents in all specialty areas of
Preventive Medicine. The material covered
in the exam relates to the core (morning)
portion of the American Board of
Preventive Medicine (ABPM) certification
exam.
In
August 2008, 351 residents from 64
programs participated in the exam.
