James Tacci, MD
Occupational Medicine Regent

Dr. Tacci is the Manager of Medical Services for Xerox Corporation.  As a member of the Environment, Health & Safety organization, within the Xerox Strategic Services Group, he works to ensure the continued safety, health and productivity of Xerox employees, and support Xerox business operations globally.  Dr. Tacci also holds a part-time teaching appointment as an Assistant Professor and Residency Program Director at the University of Rochester’s Department of Community & Preventive Medicine.  Dr. Tacci is board certified in both Public Health & General Preventive Medicine, as well as in Occupational Medicine.  He is a Fellow of both ACPM and ACOEM.  Dr. Tacci is licensed to practice medicine in New York, and is licensed to practice law in New York, Massachusetts, and the United States Supreme Court.

Jim received his B.S. in Biology from Cornell University, and his M.D. with Distinction in Research from the University of Rochester.  He completed residency training in General Preventive Medicine & Public Health at the New York State Department of Health in 1996, and residency and research fellowship training in Occupational & Environmental Medicine at Harvard University in 1998.  Dr. Tacci received his J.D. magna cum laude from the Syracuse University College of Law in 2001, where he was a member of the Syracuse Law Review.

Currently, Jim serves ACPM in a number of capacities including:  Occupational Medicine Regent; Policy Committee member; alternate delegate to the AMA; and member of the AJPM Governing Board.  Previously, he has served as:  Young Physician Regent; External Relations Committee Chair; and APMR President.  He is also on the ABPM exam-writing subcommittee for PH/GPM.  Jim was the co-recipient of the 2002 ACPM William Kane “Rising Star” Award.
