Bart Harvey, MD, MSc (Bio-Medical Engineering), PhD (Epidemiology), MEd (Higher Education in the Health Professions), FRCPC (Community Medicine), FACPM (Public Health & General Preventive Medicine) is an Associate Professor with the Department of Family & Community Medicine and the Graduate Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Toronto.  At the University of Toronto he currently serves as the Associate Chair of the Department of Public Health Sciences, the Director of Family & Community Medicine Research and as the Director of Program Evaluation for the Undergraduate Medical (MD) Program.  Bart also served from 1996 to 2006 as the Director of Toronto’s Community Medicine Residency Program.  He is a past President (2002-2004) of the Canadian National Specialty Society for Community Medicine (NSSCM) and as the current Chair of the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada’s Specialty Committee for Community Medicine, he continues as a member of the NSSCM’s Executive Committee.  Bart has been the principal or co-author on dozens of papers published in peer-reviewed biomedical journals and has presented peer-reviewed papers and invited presentations at national and international scientific conferences.  He also currently serves as one of the City of Toronto's 24 investigating coroners.  In addition, Bart was chosen as the 2006 recipient of the American Medical Writers Association's Golden Apple Award in recognition of his teaching excellence in AMWA's education program."
