ADOLESCENT HEALTH COMMITTEE
The Adolescent Health plans and implements the College’s education and policy activities related to adolescent health. This committee recommends College activities to promote adolescent health practice and policy objectives.

ASSOCIATION OF PREVENTIVE MEDICINE RESIDENTS (APMR)
The APMR is the national voice of preventive medicine residents on issues that effect training, policy, and education.  The College provides APMR members with educational resources and puts them in touch with many of the best clinicians and educators in preventive medicine.  The APMR operates under the direction of its Governing Council which has a liaison position to both ACPM and ATPM.

AWARDS COMMITTEE
The Awards Committee is responsible for the number and types of awards to be sponsored by the College as well as for the establishment of criteria for granting such awards. This committee conducts searches and names recipients of awards on an annual basis. Currently, ACPM gives four standing awards annually:

  - Special Recognition Award
  - William Kane Rising Star Award
  - Don Gemson Resident Award

CME COMMITTEE
The Continuing Medical Education (CME) Committee was formed in October 2001 with the division of the former Education Committee between CME and graduate medical education (GME) activities. The CME Committee provides guidance and oversight for all ACPM CME initiatives, including joint sponsorship partnerships, development of internet-based educational activities, and evaluation and continuous improvement of ACPM educational offerings based on the needs of the physicians and other health care providers it serves.

CONSTITUTION AND BYLAWS COMMITTEE
The Constitution and Bylaws Committee is responsible for reviewing and modifying the Constitution and Bylaws as required by changes in organizational policy.

CORPORATE COUNCIL
The Corporate Council is comprised of leading corporate supporters of the College. The purpose of the Corporate Council are to enable ACPM to: build strategic partnerships with corporate leaders; understand issues of mutual concern to ACPM and to companies with an interest in preventive medicine; provide ACPM members and residents with new opportunities to work collaboratively with leading corporations.

DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
The Development Committee plans and implements the College's resource development program, which was created to help strengthen and diversify ACPM's financial base. The Committee focuses the attention of ACPM Board members on the vital responsibility of obtaining adequate resources for the College from a variety of funding sources (including the Annual Fund, corporations, foundations, and federal agencies).

FINANCE COMMITTEE
The Finance Committee provides to staff, in working cooperation with an investment counselor, policy guidelines relating to the investment of funds. The Committee reviews and recommends budget presentations for approval by the Board of Regents.

GME COMMITTEE
The Graduate Medical Education (GME) Committee was formed in October 2001 with the division of the former Education Committee between GME and continuing medical education (CME) activities. The GME Committee is concerned primarily with improving, and being an advocate for, GME in all specialty areas of preventive medicine. Some of the GME Committee’s recent activities include developing an assessment tool for collecting and assembling information on residency programs, a directory of residency programs, and a "best practices" manual for Preventive Medicine Residency Directors.

JOINT COUNCIL OF RESIDENCY PROGRAM DIRECTORS
The Council is sponsored by ACPM and ATPM. Participation in the Council is encouraged from residency programs in all specialty areas of preventive medicine. The Joint Council serves as the organizational structure for information sharing and discussion to address issues of concern to these programs.  The Joint Council can, as appropriate, recommend to the Boards of the American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM) and the Association of Teachers of Preventive Medicine (ATPM) policies and activities which relate to the interests and needs of the residency programs.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
The Membership Committee determines fitness and qualifications of all applicants for all categories of membership and recommends criteria for all membership categories and modifications as needed. The committee is also charged with recommending recruitment and retention strategies.

NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE
The Nominating Committee develops, on an annual basis, the slate of officers to run for vacancies on the Board of Regents.

The Policy Committee monitors legislative and regulatory matters pertinent to preventive medicine and recommends to the Board of Regents appropriate policy and action for the College or its members respecting such matters. This committee recommends College activities to promote preventive medicine policy objectives in both public and private sectors.

PRESIDENT'S SOCIETY
The President’s Society serves as the steering committee overseeing the Future of Preventive Medicine Fund. It meets each year at the ACPM annual meeting, and it is chaired by ACPM’s Immediate Past President.

PREVENTION PRACTICE COMMITTEE
The Prevention Practice Committee develops ACPM policy statements on clinical preventive services, facilitates ACPM member participation in developing practice guidelines on preventive medicine with other groups, and seeks to encourage and conduct research on practice guideline implementation.

PREVENTIVE MEDICINE 2008 PLANNING COMMITTEE
The PM 2008 Planning Committee handles all planning and scheduling for events related to the PM 2007 Annual Meeting.  The meeting will be held

YOUNG PHYSICIANS SECTION (YPS)
The Young Physicians Section is for members who have completed their residency or who are under the age of 40. The YPS provides a direct means for young physicians to participate in activities of the College. The YPS also
provides a means for involvement in the American Medical Association's Young Physician Section.
