Wendy Bruand, MD, MPH, MSEd

Dr.
Wendy E. Braund is the 11th Luther Terry Fellow
and Senior Clinical Advisor at the Office of Disease
Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP), US Department of
Health and Human Services (HHS). Her responsibilities
include federal policy development, analysis, and
integration in the areas of health promotion and disease
prevention; she also oversees the education and
professional development of the fellows, resident
physicians, and interns who rotate through ODPHP.
Dr.
Braund is a 2007 graduate of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg
School of Public Health Preventive Medicine Residency
Program and is board certified in General Preventive
Medicine and Public Health. During her clinical training
before Preventive Medicine, she spent two years as a
neurosurgery resident at the Penn State Hershey Medical
Center. Prior to embarking on her medical career, Dr.
Braund was an English and special education teacher and
middle school guidance counselor.
Her
degrees include a BA from Duke University, MSEd from the
University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education,
MD from the Pennsylvania State University College of
Medicine, and MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School
of Public Health, where she is an Associate Professor in
the Department of Health Policy and Management.
