Practicum Rotation in Adolescent Health and Preventive Medicine

"Serving as the ACPM resident for the Adolescent Health Initiative provided me access to leaders in preventive medicine and adolescent health.  The skills ranged from clinical exposure to adolescent medicine to creating an evidence-based literature review that focused healthy people objectives related to adolescent health….There was great exposure to creating policies around adolescent health and meeting with key leaders in adolescent health in the Washington DC area.   The experience was incredibly valuable to my career as a preventive medicine physician.

Adolescent Health Resident Summer 2008

“(I) was given great access to and mentoring by experts in the field—both locally and across the country. These mentors included leading pediatric/adolescent clinicians, governmental and non-profit organizations working to improve Adolescent Health.  I was able to attend meetings and participate in various projects….And all of this was made so easy because the ACPM staff was very supportive and made me feel like an integral member of their staff while I was there”
