The American College of Preventive Medicine is committed to developing innovative tools that advance the delivery of preventive services and physician education around evidence-based clinical prevention. ACPM has developed a series of Time Tools to provide physicians and clinical staff with concise, credible, evidence-based clinical prevention guidelines on select topics to enhance knowledge, and encourage application, of preventive medicine services in key clinical areas.
Each Time Tool provides an executive summary of the evidence and practical approaches to delivering preventive services to patients in the context of a clinical visit.
Next, each also includes a more robust, resource document delineating the epidemiology of the disease/health behavior/risk, clinical evidence, and recommendations by various professional and government entities.
Last, each is accompanied by a patient guide that may be shared during a clinic visit and includes a high-level summary to reinforce the patient education process.
