ACPM MAKES NEWS WITH NEW PMR TRAINING PROGRAM IN MAINE TO FOCUS ON PLANT BASED NUTRITION
The Portland Press Herald published a recent story announcing the new Preventive Medicine Residency Training program at Maine Medical Center that will focus on plant based nutrition. ACPM Associate Executive Director, Paul Bonta, was quoted in the article, referencing the growing popularity of PMR programs as the next generations of physicians begin to focus more on prevention diseasing.

ACPM President Dan Blumenthal and the Executive VP of United Health Group, Reed Tuckson published an Opinion Editorial on the important of preventive care. The OpEd reviewed a new report co-released by ACPM and United Health Foundation that analyzed prevention measures across all 50 states. It looked at prevention through the lenses of immunizations, efforts to prevent chronic disease and disparities in access to preventive care.

ANNOUNCING NEW LIFESTYLE MEDICINE PROVIDER TRAININGS
ACPM is organizing a series of free in-person lifestyle medicine training sessions May 10, May 17 and May 24 in Chicago, Charlotte, and Denver, respectively. The live trainings will focus on how lifestyle medicine practices can be used to improve health outcomes among a target population most at-risk for hypertension and cardiovascular disease. The goal of the trainings is to build the capacity and knowledge of providers to apply the core competencies of lifestyle medicine to improve population health outcomes within a specified target group.
