The membership of the American College of Preventive Medicine approved the ACPM Code of Ethics on 10/9/2009.
The Purposes of the Code of the Code of Ethics are to:
-
elaborate standards of professional ethical conduct with which each member of the College ("PM Physician”) is expected to comply;
-
encourage preventive medicine residency training programs to teach and emulate the proper conduct of the profession;
-
provide the College with standards of ethical behavior that are expected as a condition of continuing membership; and
-
provide the public with a sense of understanding and trust of the level of professionalism they can expect from College members.
