Katrina Rhodes, MD, MS, FACPM
Dr. Rhodes is a
public health & preventive medicine physician with over a decade of diverse
experience in health administration, health policy, health promotion/disease
prevention, health equity and health education.
Dr. Rhodes has recently been consulting in the Maryland/Washington,
DC/Virginia area as a technical evaluator and advisor of community public health
needs and behavioral health practices and a regulatory advisor to public health
and clinical practices on federal healthcare regulations and public-private partnerships.
Previously, Dr. Rhodes evaluated pharmacotherapies and lifestyle interventions for
chronic diseases including obesity and diabetes as a medical officer at Health &
Human Services’ Food & Drug Administration, served as a health educator with
the Peace Corps in Madagascar,
and has been a systems-based monitor, evaluator, leader and advisor of domestic
and international public health practice, prevention services and community-based
health programs. Dr. Rhodes completed undergraduate studies at Washington University
in St. Louis, medical studies at Northwestern University
Feinberg School of Medicine, and residency
training at University
of Maryland’s General Preventive
Medicine & Public Health Residency Program. Dr. Rhodes is a member of American
Public Health Association, National Medical Association, American Medical Association,
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, National Peace Corps Association, Phi
Beta Kappa, and Sigma Xi Scientific Honorary Society. Dr. Rhodes has previously been recognized by ACPM
for her research with health equity in cardiovascular disease by receiving ACPM’s
Annual Conference Awards for Outstanding Scientific Poster, Outstanding Resident
Poster, and Outstanding Poster Presentation.
