Robert Johnson, MD, MPH FACPM

Dr. Johnson is the Deputy
Director of the FAA Civil Aerospace Medical Institute in Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma.
Prior to this position he was
an Associate Professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch where he was the,
Associate Director of the UTMB/NASA-Johnson Space Center Aerospace Medicine Residency
Program, and the Course Director of the Introduction to Aerospace Medicine
Residency short course.
Dr Johnson
retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2005.
Bob held positions as the General Preventive Medicine Residency Director
at both the US Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine and at the University of
Texas Medical Branch. He is a Fellow of the American College of Preventive
Medicine, a Fellow of the Aerospace Medical Association, and is the Past
President of the American Society of Aerospace Medical Specialist.
Dr. Johnson has published
numerous articles on flight safety and aerospace medicine.
He is the co-editor of the textbook "Fundamentals
of Aerospace Medicine, 4th ed.” and he serves as an Aerospace
Medicine representative on the ACGME Preventive Medicine Residency Review
Committee.
Throughout his career, Dr.
Johnson has been closely involved with the medical aspects of population health
management, clinical preventive services, safety program administration and
graduate medical education.
