Elizabeth Salisbury-Afshar, MD, MPH

| Dr. Elizabeth Salisbury-Afshar will complete her residency at the Johns Hopkins General
Preventive Medicine Residency in June of 2012 and take on the position as chief
resident for the 2012-2013 academic year. She went to medical school at Rush
University Medical College and completed a family medicine residency at the
University of Illinois Chicago-Illinois Masonic Medical Center Family Medicine
Residency Program. She completed her Masters at Johns Hopkins and holds
certificates in health disparities and human rights. Her public health
interests include maternal and child health, health of vulnerable populations,
and global health.

Raul Mirza, MS, DO, MPH

| Dr. Raul
Alexander Mirza is a fourth year resident of the Walter Reed Army Institute
of Research sequential Preventive Medicine and Occupational & Environmental
Medicine residency. He completed medical
school at the Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, a
Transitional Year Internship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and a Master’s
degree in Public Health at the Uniformed Services University of the Health
Sciences. An active duty officer in the
United States Army, his public health interests include global health, health
policy, and military deployment and occupational health.

Karyn Singer, MD

| Dr. Karyn Singer is a first-year preventive medicine resident at Johns Hopkins University, with an interest in obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease prevention among urban underserved populations. She completed an internal medicine primary care residency at NYU and attended medical school at the University of Pennsylvania.

Laura Sander, MD
| Dr. Laura Sander is a General Preventive Medicine Resident at the
Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She attended medical school at
the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine then completed internal
medicine primary care residency at the Hospital of the University of
Pennsylvania. Her public health interests include chronic disease prevention and
control, access to primary health care and global health. |

Sarah-Blythe Ballard, MD, MPH

| Dr. Sarah-Blythe Ballard is dually enrolled in the General Preventive Medicine Residency and International Health (Global Disease Epidemiology and Control) PhD Programs at Johns Hopkins. She completed medical school at Emory University and received her Master's degree in Public Health from Johns Hopkins. She holds certificates in Health Finance and Management and Tropical Medicine, both from Hopkins. An active duty officer in the United States Navy, she is interested in the intersection of global health, security, and development.

Jeff Tzeng, DO, MPH
 | Dr.
Jeff Tzeng is an officer in the United States Army and a Preventive Medicine
and Occupational/Environmental Medicine resident at The Walter Reed
Army Institute of Research and Uniformed Services University of the
Health Sciences. He completed medical school at Touro University College
of Osteopathic Medicine-California and received his Master of Public
Health at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in
Bethesda, Maryland. His interests include quality improvement, health
care economics, and military/deployment health.
