Dr. Sarah-Blythe Ballard is dually enrolled in the General Preventive Medicine Residency and International Health (Global Disease Epidemiology and Control) PhD Programs at Johns Hopkins. She completed medical school at Emory University and received her Master's degree in Public Health from Johns Hopkins. She holds certificates in Health Finance and Management and Tropical Medicine, both from Hopkins. An active duty officer in the United States Navy, she is interested in the intersection of global health, security, and development.

Dr. Elizabeth Salisbury-Afshar will complete her residency at the Johns Hopkins General Preventive Medicine Residency in June of 2012 and take on the position as chief resident for the 2012-2013 academic year. She went to medical school at Rush University Medical College and completed a family medicine residency at the University of Illinois Chicago-Illinois Masonic Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program. She completed her Masters at Johns Hopkins and holds certificates in health disparities and human rights. Her public health interests include maternal and child health, health of vulnerable populations, and global health.
