Elliot Rosenberg, MD, MPH, FACPM

Dr. Rosenberg has been a member of ACPM for over 15 years. He currently serves in a dual role in Israel's Ministry of Health: National Coordinator of the Healthy Israel 2020 Initiative, a national health promotion/disease prevention program, and Head, Department of Occupational Health in the Israeli Ministry of Health.

Born in New York, Elliot immigrated as a youth with his family to Israel. He returned to the US to earn a BA from Columbia College. Medical training was done at Tel-Aviv University School of Medicine. A General Preventive Medicine residency was completed at the University of Washington in Seattle, focusing on environmental and occupational health. He trained as an NCI cancer prevention fellow in the Cancer Research Prevention Program of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. He is also a board-certified in Public Health by the Israeli Medical Association.

For seventeen years, Elliot served as an operational flight surgeon in the Israeli Air Force in the following billets: flight surgeon in an F-16 fighter squadron, Director of Base Medical Services at Ramat-David AFB, human factor flight safety specialist in the Safety and Inspection Directorate, and Chief of the Clinical Section at the IAF Aeromedical Center. After leaving the service, he worked as Director of Clinical Safety at Teva Pharmaceuticals, and headed the Department of Community Geriatrics in the Israeli Ministry of Health, focusing on prevention in seniors.

Dr. Rosenberg is a fellow of ACPM and was elected to the International Academy of Aviation & Space Medicine. He has been part of the Israeli Preventive Services Task Force since 2004, and also serves on two of Israel's National Health Councils: the Health Promotion Council and the Occupational Health Council.

As International Regent for the College, he will work to form partnerships with leading international organizations such as the WHO, as well as interact with national preventive medicine organizations and societies worldwide, thereby expanding the ACPM's international member base.
